One year – Unlimited tracks

A membership gives you access to ALL the tracks during one full year. Each  track is focusing on a specific area of expertise, such as e.g. Design and Product Leadership. Each track will, on average, take less than 10 minutes per day to follow, and will help you get ahead, and stay ahead, on the topics that are most important to you.

Ok, here goes:

  • Every track is led by one of the foremost experts within this specific area. We’re talking about THE people who wrote the books and, in many ways, defined the field that we’re all working in.
  • Each of the tracks feature live video sessions together with the track leader on a regular basis. The sessions will focus on timely (or timeless) topics that will help both you and your organization to grow. During these sessions there will be ample of opportunities to discuss these topics with the other members. The sessions are standalone, so you can still attend the next one even if you missed a couple before.
  • Between the sessions the track leaders will provide you with highly curated recommendations on important stuff to watch, read, or listen to, that on average will take you less than 10 minutes per day to finish. This way, you’ll always have something interesting and rewarding to do when you have a few minutes to spare.
  • Finally. Ambition Empower is YOUR program. You get access to ALL of the tracks. Attend as much or as little as you want or have time for. And, of course, you can influence the agenda for each track, and suggest topics that are important to you and your organization.

Design + Product Leadership

Regardless of whether your focus is design or product, your job as a leader is to improve the organization’s ability to deliver the right experience. Your organization is a unique combination of life stage, industry, culture, skill levels, structure, resources, and other factors. As a leader, you have a unique combination of strengths that make some situations easier than others. Rather than giving you a single recipe for success, this track will focus on choosing and applying the right ingredients, wherever you are.

Kim Goodwin is the author of the bestselling book, Designing for the Digital Age. She is a Design & Product leadership consultant and executive, providing creative leadership and management consulting for Fortune 500s as well as startup clients in varied industries, including healthcare, aviation, retail, communication, financial services, consumer, enterprise, automotive, IT, and other industries. Earlier in her career, Kim was VP of Design & General Manager at Cooper, a leading design and strategy agency in San Francisco, for 12 years.

The Design + Product Leadership track will continually adapt to the needs of the members, but likely topics include:

Strategy ❤︎ Design Research

Most designers, and decision-makers, agree that research is important to design innovative and useful products and services. But few stakeholders realize the full potential. Many organizations fall into the error of doing the same type of research over and over.

In order to fully realize the power of design research for innovation, we have to combine data from qualitative research, quantitative research, and theories from behavioral psychology. It must also meet the needs of executive decision makers, designers, and development teams. Methods and protocols are evolving constantly. In this track we will continuously explore new ideas and new methods for planning and conducting design research in the organization.

Susan Weinschenk has a Ph.D. in Psychology, and is the Chief Behavioral Scientist and CEO at The Team W, Inc, as well as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. Susan consults with Fortune 1000 companies, start-ups, governments and non-profits, and is the author of 8 books that have been translated to more than 10 languages, including 100 Things Every Designer Needs To Know About People, Neuro Web Design and How To Get People To Do Stuff.

What Susan doesn’t know about the intersection of Strategy, Behavioral Psychology, and Design Research is simply not worth knowing.

The Strategy ❤︎ Design Research track will continually adapt to the needs of the members, but likely topics include:

  • How to get executive stakeholders to think of research as a strategic tool (if they don’t already).
  • Most mental processing occurs unconsciously. So how do we improve research protocols to get more accurate answers to our questions?
  • How do you calculate ROI for your research plans?
  • How to quantify qualitative data, even with small numbers of participants
  • Going beyond the interview – Including interactive activities during moderated research protocols to reach deeper insights
  • How to set learning goals for your research to drive your methods and protocol decisions
  • How to recruit “hard to get” participants – innovative ideas for recruiting
  • How to get stakeholder buy-in to the research plan ahead of time, and why this is so critical

Already in the coming weeks and months we’ll be introducing new tracks. But this is just the beginning. As our profession keeps developing, the number of tracks will grow, and the tracks themselves will evolve to meet the new challenges that we’re facing.
